In the past 10 years Cornwall has become a prestigious tourist destination for visitors from all around the globe. The increase in visitors is likely to be because of the beautiful Cornish coastline and moors making it the perfect destination for all the family. The Cornish coastline has a calming feeling that will wash over any visitor allowing them to relax.

Cornwall lies in the South West of England and is blessed with over 300 public beaches. The decline in the tin mining and fishing industry had previously caused economic problems for Cornwall. The county’s economy now mainly relies on the Cornish tourist industry. Cornwall is blessed with an extensive coastline, mild climate and its wild moorlands making it a popular destination all year round.

For anyone travelling on a budget there are a number of surf lodges and hostels based in the Falmouth and Newquay regions of the county. There are the usual coastal bed and breakfasts if you’re interested in a traditional holiday by the sea.

If the idea of sharing a hostel or pitching a tent in a campsite doesn’t appeal to you then there are other accommodation options that are more luxurious. There are plenty of pleasant country holiday cottages in Cornwall which will hold groups of any size. A holiday cottage is the perfect solution if you want the feeling of a home whilst on holiday. It will allow you to come and go as you please with the advantage of the best self catering facilities you can find. If you are lucky you’ll also be able to find holiday cottages that come with hot tubs and above ground swimming pools.

Cornwall also has its fair share of hotels from boutique, metro and town hotels to grand country hotels. It doesn’t matter if you want to be in a town, by the coast or in the countryside you’ll be able to find a hotel to suit you. Whilst not all hotels will come with a full restaurant you will find that there are a lot of different places to eat in Cornwall.

When eating out in Cornwall you will be pleasantly surprised to find that there is more on offer than cream teas and pasties. While these icons of traditional Cornish culture are still widely available you will be able to find some great food on offer in local restaurants. A wide range of locally grown produce, dairy goods and fine meat mean that local chefs have the finest ingredients to work with.

The number of tourist attractions in Cornwall means there is plenty to do for all the family. 1 in 8 visitors to Cornwall visit the Eden Project which is a must see and the Blue Reef Aquarium is another crowd pleaser. There are also plenty of museums, historical sites and gardens that you can visit as well as the seaside amusements and donkey rides. All these attractions and the other facilities Cornwall has to offer make it the perfect destination for this summer or the next.
